Palestinian & Special Needs Students Receive Fee Waivers at Al-Azhar
Al-Azhar exempts Palestinian students and students with special needs from fees.
Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb has announced that Palestinian students will be exempt from fees at its institutes and universities for the 2024-2025 academic year. The exemption applies to both regular and model institutes, covering foreign student fees as well.
This move comes after a previous announcement from Al-Azhar University that waived fees for Palestinian students. In addition, the Supreme Council of Al-Azhar has exempted students with special needs who hold the Integrated Services Card from service fees at pre-university levels, with the exception of fees tied to external services or specific laws.
The decision extends previously granted exemptions for blind and visually impaired students. These initiatives aim to offer educational support and promote inclusivity for Palestinian students and those with special needs.
