Record-Breaking Number of Tourists Visited Egypt in First Half of 2024
Egypt’s tourism revenues in the first half of 2024 reached USD 6.6 billion, compared to USD 6.3 billion in 2023.
Egypt attracted a record-breaking 7.069 million tourists between January 2024 and June 2024, compared to 7.062 million tourists in the same period last year.
The figures were released in a report by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The report also revealed that Egypt’s tourism revenues in the first half of 2024 reached USD 6.6 billion, compared to USD 6.3 billion in 2023 and USD 5.6 billion in 2010.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities attributed this growth to the government’s implementation of its national tourism strategy, which is focused on expanding the capacity of the tourism sector. This includes an increase in the number of incoming available flight seas and hotel rooms. The strategy aims to attract 30 million tourists by 2028.
