Swedish Company Ericsson to Roll Out Latest 5G Technology Across Egypt
e& Egypt has partnered with Swedish company Ericsson to deploy energy-efficient 5G technology across the country.
In a step towards advancing Egypt's telecommunications infrastructure, Ericsson, the Swedish multinational networking and telecommunications company, has partnered with e& Egypt to implement 5G technology nationwide. This collaboration follows the recent issuance of 5G telecom licenses by the Egyptian government to three major operators: Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt and e& Egypt.
The government has raised approximately USD 675 million from the sale of these 5G service licenses, in order to enhance communication quality and expand network capacity across the country. Ericsson's role in this initiative involves deploying its latest energy-efficient 5G portfolio, designed to establish a robust network capable of supporting diverse site types and traffic demands.
Under this agreement, Ericsson will utilize its advanced 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) technology, including the Ericsson Radio System, to ensure high-performance and reliable connectivity. The deployment aims to deliver faster internet speeds, lower latency and improved network resilience, which are expected to benefit both consumers and enterprises alike.
