UK's Bolton Museum to Exhibit Artefacts of King Tutankhamun

The archaeological memorabilia of ancient Egypt’s famous boy-king Tutankhamun's family will be on display at the UK’s Bolton Museum, as part of a new exhibition entitled ‘Tutankhamun and His Family’ opening on August 13th.

King Tutankhamun briefly ruled Egypt in the 14th century BC, before dying at 18 years old and ending the family line as a result. He came to modern fame when his tomb was discovered by the company of Howard Carter in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings in 1922. The exhibit will cover the life of the boy-king, in particular how he lived around his close family.

The Bolton Museum hosts an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts, with five rooms featuring 12,000 archaeological pieces.

The entire Tutankhamun collection will be on display for the first time in history under one roof at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
