CAC Sued for Teaching Students That Egypt Lost The 6th of October War

Tiba Centre for Political Research and Political Studies Director Khaled Raafat is suing Cairo American College (CAC) for teaching students false information about the 6th of October war and distorting Egyptian history, reports Daily News Egypt. 

Raafat said he filed the lawsuit after a parent told him that her 10th-grade son was taught that "Israel had defeated Egypt in the 6th of October war, and returned Sinai to Egypt out of kindness and its love for peace," he told the newspaper. 

Raafat also says that he attempted to bring the matter to the Ministry of Education's attention but was told that CAC is under the US Embassy's protection which in turn denied having any affiliation to CAC.

The Ministry of Education has "no authority over the school," as per a statement by Spokesman who also said that the issue falls within the Foreign Affairs Ministry's jurisdiction, to ask the US Embassy for clarification 

Parliament's Education Affairs Committee has also said they'll be following the developments closely and even seek to verify the accuracy of these claims.
