West Cairo's Sphinx International Airport to Kick-Off Operations in January
Sheikh Zayed peeps don't need to worry about a drive that's possibly even longer than their flights anymore.

According to a Civil Aviation Ministry Sunday statement, The Sphinx International Airport, which is set to serve the city of Giza, will start operating in January, Egypt Today reports.
Only 12 kilometers away from the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, the airport will enable tourists to drop in Cairo for one day visits to the city's most iconic landmarks.In addition to Sheikh Zayed and October, the airport is also set to serve travellers to and from Alexandria, Fayoum, and Beni Suef, lessening the pressure on Cairo and Borg El Arab international airport, and establishing new travel routes to the country.
Constructed by the Armed Forced Engineering Authority on a space of 25,500 square meters, Sphinx International Airport is to accommodate more than 300 passengers per hours.
