CIFF Honours Iconic Actress Lebleba With Golden Pyramid Honorary Award
This year’s Cairo International Film Festival will recognise actress Ninochka Manoug Kupelian, aka the iconic Lebleba, with the Golden Pyramid Honorary Award.
The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) is holding its 44th edition from November 13th to November 22nd, where they will distinguish renowned actress and performer Lebleba with the Golden Pyramid Honorary Award. The prize will be given in recognition of Lebleba’s lifetime contribution to Egyptian cinema, with over 88 feature films throughout her career.
Born Ninochka Manoug Kupelian, Lebleba began her acting career when she was five years old in a film directed by Niazi Mostafa, who gave her the stage name Lebleba. She has since then become a prominent figure on the silver screen with her quirky persona and sense of humour, as well as her iconic duo with legendary Egyptian comedian Adel Emam.
The Golden Pyramid Honorary Award has previously been given to household names in the film industry such as veteran actress Nelly and writer Waheed Hamed.
