Swedish jazz songstress Caroline Leander graces our favourite live music venue on Tuesday with her sultry tunes and deft lyrics.
The Cairo Jazz Club is celebrated as one of Cairo's best live venue for all genres, but on June 10th they are returning to their roots, providing Cairene ears with some of the smoothest Jazz to hit the CJC this year.
The Cairo Jazz Club is always busy bringing acts from all over the world to the delight of music lovers in Cairo. On tap for this week's Jammin Tuesday is none other than Sweden's wordsmith and cool Jazz cat Caroline Leander alongside guitarist Peter Tegnér, who will be stopping by for a jam session amidst a mini tour of Cairo.
If you are a Jazz enthusiast then you need to book off the night, as this show will mark Leander's first appearance in Egypt. With her dynamic range of original jazz numbers varying between Jazz Pop and Jazz Funk, attendees will certainly be please no matter what sub-genre of Jazz you seek.
Her lyrics are heavily steeped in metaphors that are both beautiful and accessible, delivered in a silky sultry voice. Accompanying them for the night is Cairo's own Ashraf Habashy & The Jazz Caterers, who will be rounding out this very cool night.
