Famed for his popular commercials, Egyptian director Ali Ali's debut short film, ‘Smokey Eyes’, has earned a spot in the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The film features Egyptian rap star Marwan Moussa and Malak Bazid, both of whom are making their first appearance in a cinematic feature, as well as Egyptian actor Hassan Abou El Rouss.

‘Smokey Eyes’ is Ali Ali and Marwan Moussa's second collaboration, following their work on the music video for the hit song ‘Tesla’. The film will compete in the Arab Shorts category, alongside a diverse selection of regional works that capture unique glimpses into the Arab world. The film festival is scheduled to run from November 30th to December 9th.

Ali Ali holds a place among the top ten most-awarded advertising directors worldwide. His ‘Never Say No to Panda’ campaign earned a Gold Lion at Cannes and garnered over 90 million views on YouTube, solidifying its status as one of the most widely-viewed campaigns in history.
