We make great cinema, so it’s only right that Egyptians
get to read up on how great cinema is made. Offering itself as a portal
for cinematic knowledge, the National Center for Cinema - headed by
writer Mohamed Al-Basousi - has just launched an all-new service through
its library that will allow up-and-coming researchers and students of
film access to over 6,700 books and periodicals in Arabic, English and
French.
The texts cover everything from scriptwriting, directing, set decoration, montage, photography and film critique, and will be available to researchers and students at the Academy of Arts, including those in media faculties. The centre’s library is in Downtown Cairo at the Center for Film Culture at 36 Sherif Street.
