The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is on track for its grand opening ceremony, as evidenced by a recent meeting led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. The Prime Minister, alongside Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa, and Governors of Giza and Cairo, convened to oversee progress at the museum and surrounding areas.
Preparations for the grand opening ceremony, touted as a globally significant event, were at the forefront of the meeting. Attendees discussed the museum's vast collection, showcasing millennia of Egyptian history through advanced display techniques.
Detailed discussions covered the museum's internal developments, including the implementation of temperature control systems and comprehensive artifact labeling. The restoration progress of the King Khufu Ship Museum, a standalone facility within the GEM complex, was also addressed.
The meeting provided a thorough review of the GEM project's executive status, detailing the completion of operational areas. Ongoing beautification efforts surrounding the museum were also discussed, including landscaping and lighting installations.
The meeting also addressed potential corporate alliances and the opening activities program, which will be led by United Media Services Company.
