Iconic actress Sawsan Badr will be honoured at the next edition of the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival with the Isis Achievement Award, in recognition of her long career and her great contribution to cinema.

The festival said they chose Badr because she represents the creativity of Egyptian women in the movie business, especially considering the nature of her work and the way they address women’s social issues, like in ’Ehki Ya Scheherazade’, ‘Abwab Moghlaqa’, ‘El Shouq’, ‘Qas Wa Lazq’, ‘Asrar El Banat’, ‘678’, ‘El Farah’, and ‘Dunya’.

This year’s Aswan International Women's Film Festival will be held from February 23rd to February 28th under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities, and will be sponsored by the National Council for Women and the governorate of Aswan.
