‘The Legend: Farouk Ibrahim’ Exhibition Extended to February 28th

‘The Legend: Farouk Ibrahim’ - an exhibition that celebrates the extensive archive of the late photojournalist as part of Cairo Photo Week - has extended its run at Downtown Cairo's Access Art Space until February 28th. Originally scheduled to close on the last day of Cairo Photo Week, the exhibition showcased Ibrahim’s ability to document Egypt’s modern history, and his experimental approach to photography.

The photojournalist’s archive was unveiled by his son, photojournalist Karim Farouk Ibrahim, with the exhibition itself curated by photographer Nadia Mounir. The duo emphasised Ibrahim’s playful spirit throughout the space, surprising visitors with what the photographer was able to capture and witness between 1952 and 2011 - whether it was through his work at the Akhbar El Youm newspaper, as a personal photographer to former Egyptian presidents, or as a close friend to celebrities like Abdelhalim Hafez and Mahmoud Reda.
