The Music Industry's Marketplace

The inauguration of the first Visa For Music (VFM) is set to take place in Morocco between the November 12 to 15, and will focus on creating a market place for emerging musicians out of Africa and the Middle East.

Visa For Music plans to be more than a festival or fair, but rather a professional’s market that will bring together agents, musicians, programmers, festival directors, record labels, touring agents, and broadcasters to the Moroccan capital of Rabat. VFM’s goal is to become the key marketplace for finding emerging contemporary artists in Africa and the Middle East.

With a series of concerts, talks and debates, speed meetings, and workshops, VFM promises to be the first musical platform of its kind and will be the best chance for musicians and promoters to find each other. Considering this is the first edition, VFM expects an amazing turnout as there are already over 600 applications from all over the world. After reviewing the applications the jury chose 30 artists who will be given their time to shine at La Renaissance Venue and at the Theatre National Mohammed V.

Aside from the selected artists, the VFM will also be paying tribute some of the greatest musicians to ever come out of the region. With a rich musical history there is plenty of amazing music that should transcend their borders, and with the establishment of the VFM, new artists will finally be able to find the resources required to make it in the musical industry.
