Now in its sixth year, the Middle East's biggest entrepreneurial summit is shaping up to be the most impactful yet. Taking over Downtown Cairo's Greek Campus between the 7th and 9th of December, 2018, RiseUp is bigger than ever: more than 250 speakers are ready to inspire and some 5000 entrepreneurs, investors and industry figures are expected to be flooding the capital's startup hub.

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism, HE Rania Al Mashat, will be taking to the Capital stage on the main Greek Campus to share her inspiring success story and how she - in keeping with the event's theme - aims high yet stays grounded.

Bart Van De Vel // Facebook

Bart Van De Vel has a job you most probably didn’t know existed – he’s Head of Beauty & Luxury at Facebook in the Middle East and Africa. What that means is that the Belgian travels around both regions forging relationships with personal care and luxury brands – so he knows a thing or two about how to get the best out of the world’s largest social media platform.

Khaled Bichara // Orascom Development Holding

A serial entrepreneur who's an active member of Egypt’s startup ecosystem, Khaled Bichara is CEO of Orascom Development Holding as well as co-founder of Endeavor Egypt, a non-profit development organisation that finds and supports high-impact entrepreneurs. But that's not all - this mogul is also one of the partners in VC firm A15, who just completed the region's first Dragon exit (that's a company which returns its whole fund) so trust us when we say his are pearls of wisdom you'll want to clutch close to your little entrepreneurial heart.

Farouk El Baz // NASA & Boston University

Research Professor and Director of the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University, Egyptian-American space scientist Farouk El Baz is best known for working with NASA in the scientific exploration of the moon, selecting landing sites for the Apollo missions and training astronauts for lunar observations. This Egyptian legend has helped put us on the scientific map and is bound to inspire.

Lamees El Hadidi // TV Presenter

She's massively influenced public opinion and led sensitive debates in Egypt over the past decade. What does it take to become the first lady of Egyptian TV? Lamees El Hadidi will tell all...

Lina Hediah // ConsenSys

A Harvard graduate, Lina Hediah has more than 20 years of experience as a technologist, advisor, and executive at various groundbreaking tech companies and organisations from Egypt to the US. In 2017, she joined ConsenSys, the world's largest Ethereum blockchain technology firm, as Executive Director of the Dubai office.
