On Saturday morning an Egyptian court sentenced the head of a journalist union along with two board members to two years in prison for harbouring colleagues who allegedly spread false news and were wanted by authorities.
According to Reuters, Yehia Qalash, Khaled al-Bashy and Gamal Abdel Rahim will be allowed to appeal the decision, which was handed down to them for their roles in hiding colleagues on May 2nd, leading to police storming the Egyptian Journalist headquarters and arresting the two men wanted.
