The Egypt-based podcast company secured their investment from Shark Tank’s Dina Ghabbour to expand to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Egypt-based The Potcast Productions (TPP) has secured funding from leading business woman Dina Ghabbour during the second season of Shark Tank, which it will use to expand to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The funding aligns with TPP’s goals of expanding across the region, and creating unique and innovative content to establish cultural integration in MENA through the power of storytelling.
“This round of investment will help us expand our business and serve more content creators in the region,” Islam Adel, CEO of The Potcast Productions, tells StartupScene. “The podcast industry is experiencing significant growth as a versatile platform for education and entertainment, attracting a global audience with its content – thanks to its rapid expansion on both a global and regional scale.”
Today, TPP has a total of 15 podcast programs and 7 million active listeners, according to the company. With the rise of podcast listeners, TPP sees a growing opportunity for developing innovative content uniquely suited for people in the region.
TPP was also honored with the Gold Ticket Award from Vodafone Business during the second season of Shark Tank.
The company works by enabling content creators to reach a large audience, and generate profit all while providing enriching Arabic content to listeners. It also aims to pin Egypt on the global media map by showcasing advanced and pioneering content.
