Donald Trump Wants To Ban Muslims From Entering U.S.
Surprising absolutely no one, Republican presidential candidate and living hair piece, Donald Trump, comes out with more xenophobic statements.
Following last week’s heinous attacks by two radicals in San Bernardino, California, alongside his slipping poll numbers, current frontrunner for the Republican nomination for the American Presidency, Donald Trump, called on the US government to commit to "preventing Muslim immigration" to the US.
Following previous statements that the United States should create a database to track and monitor all Muslims within the country, Trump’s most recent hateful remarks continue to prey on a small subset of American voters' fear and ignorance of Islam. Trump’s lastest vitriolic blast comes hours after polls were released that showed him losing his lead in the crucial swing state of Iowa. Trump’s poll numbers see a significant boost after his most ignorant and xenophobic statements, appealing to a very small but very vocal minority of voters.
The couple responsible for the San Bernardino attacks, which killed 14 and injured 21 - including a member of their own mosque - have been claimed as supporters of ISIS, though no actual ties to the group have been found.
Prohibiting an entire religious population from entering the country is an unheard of stance for a leading American presidential candidate. Though, if any sort of measure to prohibit entry based on religion is introduced in the U.S. legislative system, it is highly improbable that it would be allowed to take effect. Clearly violating the first amendment to the American constitution, which ensures freedom of religion, any sort of ban proposed would be struck down by the nation’s Supreme Court.
In 2015 alone, there have been approximately 350 mass shootings in the United States, including last month’s attack on a Planned Parenthood facility in which the radical Christian terrorist was apprehended alive. In that event, in which a religious extremist attacked civilians based on fringe ideology, Trump claimed that the shooter was solely responsible for his actions.
