Are Pubes Back in Style?

Last week, controversial streetwear brand American Apparel unveiled a bunch of bushy new mannequins. Is pubic hair back in fashion?

Staff Writer

American Apparel has never shied away from controversy. Notorious for their ridiculous softcore porn advertising that has more to do with compromising positions and less to do with clothing, American Apparel has decided to make a major change with their mannequins.

As of late last week, mannequins in American Apparel will be equipped with what could only be described as 70s pubic hair. Why would we call it 70s pubic hair? Well simply because it looks like it has been growing since that decade. Apparently the new mannequins are intended to convey the “rawness and realness of sexuality,” but to our eyes it conveys terrible grooming habits, as tufts of pubes escape every which way.

There is nothing wrong with having pubic hair, however when your pubic hair starts looking like an afro and requires a search party to find your lady parts, then perhaps it's time call off the search party and to trim the hedges.

There is still no word if these mannequins will be shipped out to global chains, but one thing for sure: as long as their mannequins look like that, it will be a long time until you see an American Apparel opening up in Cairo because, let's face it, Egypt ain't buying into that. Then again, maybe we're wrong. What do you think, Cairo...Is unruly pubic hair sexy?
