As the UK hands over the COP 26 flag to Egypt for COP 27, the road to the upcoming summit presents an opportunity for the UK and Egypt to work together on issues of global importance. The British Council in Egypt will provide a series of grants for postsecondary institutions that are working to tackle climate change.

Valued at GBP35,000 each, the council hopes to use these grants to instigate opportunities for increased partnerships between universities in Egypt and the UK with a focus on climate change, boosting the impact of these institutions.

The council hammered on the grants’ potential to bridge academic talents, as universities from both countries will have the opportunity to connect, collaborate and innovate with one another.

Public and private universities in Egypt can apply for these grants, with the deadline for submissions on January 18th.
