The First Ever Cairo Design Awards Carves Unique Space For Egyptian Creatives

The first edition of the Cairo Design Award is fast approaching, taking place on November 28 and 29 at the Nile Ritz Carlton Cairo, where the winners will receive their awards. And, due to popular demand, the deadline to submit your work for a chance at receiving the award has been extended to November 3rd.

The award is the first of its kind in Egypt, giving a platform to architects, designers, and manufacturers to spotlight their work and to be recognised for achievements in their creative fields. A shortlist of designs will be announced on November 23rd.

Jordanian actress Mais Hamdan lent some star power to the event, posting a photo with the organisers on her official Instagram account, and CDA returned the love by reposting it.
 

The categories for the awards are Architecture Design, Interior Design, Landscaping Design, Set Design, Jewelry Design, and Product Design. Check out the awards' Facebook page to learn more about this much-needed stage for designers.

A panel of five judges will evaluate the entrants' work for the awards and they are Azza Fahmy, Onsi Abo Seif, Karim Mekhtigian, Tarek Naga and Amr Helmy. Each category will have a bronze, silver and gold award winner, totaling 18 CDA winners.

Actress Arwa Gouda is also the star of one of CDA's videos on their Facebook page. In a video posted on the awards' page, she praises the importance of an event like this and calls on all talented designers to submit their art. Watch the video below:
