Director Tarek Alarian Announces Sequel for 2004 Hit ‘Tito’

Director Tarek Alarian has announced that work is underway on the script for the sequel to ‘Tito’, the 2004 blockbuster starring Ahmed El Sakka. The new project will centre on the child Tito adopted in the original movie, Reda, who was originally played by Essam Youssef, who left the acting industry to pursue a career in petroleum engineering.

The original ‘Tito’ was written and directed by Tarek Alarian and starred Ahmed El Sakka alongside Hanan Turk, Khaled Saleh, and Amr Waked. The film was a commercial success upon its release, earning around EGP 11 million, making it one of the highest-grossing films at the Egyptian box office that year.

‘Tito’ follows the titular character, who spends years in a juvenile correctional facility after killing a police officer. Upon release, he ends up working in illegal operations for a corrupt police officer. His life takes a turn when he meets a businessman willing to partner with him, and then falls in love with a woman named Nour played by Hannan Turk.
