Egypt’s Oldest & Biggest Papyrus Now On Display at Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir is now home to Egypt’s oldest and biggest papyrus, unearthed in Saqqara in 2018. The ‘Waziry Papyrus’ is 16 metres long, and reveals 113 spells from the Book of the Dead. 
The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, originally built in 1901, is home to the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the world with over 120,000 pieces. 

Most recently, one of the museum’s main wings has been undergoing renovations, and is now finally open for visitors, with the ‘Waziry Papyrus’ as its main attraction.
