Egyptian Vlogger Shady Srour Wins A YouTube Gold Play Button

Shady Srour amassed well over one million subscribers on YouTube for mimicking a woman in prayer dress in every single one of his videos.

Egyptian funnyman vlogger Shady Srour has been awarded one of YouTube's highest honours, The Gold Play Button (also known as the YouTube Creator Rewards), in recognition for his YouTube prowess which amassed him well over 1 million subscribers! 

The social media sensation made his name by making vlogs poking fun at Egyptian society, from parenting traditions to holiday celebrations.

His breakthrough vine came in 2013, when he released a video called Lama Abouk Yet7awel, which later became viral and gained him notoriety across the country's cybersphere.
