Funk N Pop By Nacelle Brings the Party to the Park
We talk to the Nacelle team about their new day-party/picnic concept launching next week.
Nacelle’s first edition for the long awaited Funk’n’Pop is here. The esteemed events team behind House Sessions and B-Side or in summary some of Cairo’s most successful nights is back to debut their new concept that's all about sunshine, rainbows and flowers. A party/picnic experience offering diverse entertainment ranging from the selection of DJs and live bands lined up sounds good to us, so dug around to find out more from the team themselves about the debut party this October 6th at Royal Club, Mohamed Aly.
“It's a simple concept really: a nice cold beer, a park , all kinds of music and just really enjoying a nice sunny day out by the nile with the people you love. We believe funk n pop is delivering something we have all wanted but never had the chance to really explore in the city, we want to give everyone the chance to just hang out together on a blanket and soak up some good vibes,” says Noushka Farag, part of the Nacelle Team.
Funk 'n’ Pop offers a day-to-evening (biweekly) festival vibe in Cairo in a spacious, green, outdoor venue. The idea is to introduce music in an informal, relaxed environment. It’s a welcoming event, designed for all kinds of party people because it doesn’t have four walls. The atmosphere created will facilitate both enjoying some of the best jams while still having the space to roam around and do your own thing.
Nacelle's Ahmed Shawkat adds that "because it’s during the day, Nacelle's old and - hopefully - new friends will enjoy a new take on partying. We will be providing a centralised food court with grub from The Greek and Gringo’s, while your favourite Maadi pub, The Tap, will also be they’re setting up a mini version of its bar, which we all love. And last but not least is the music, and we hope this event doesn’t fall short from your expectations. With The Cadillacs, Fulltone, Habiba, Minus-T, Wah-Leed and Disco Misr on board, we think we've chosen what we feel is the most suitable form of entertainment to accompany this experience. We've made sure there's something for everyone."
