The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is currently in the process of developing a card that would combine all governmental services.

To be produced within three to four months, the first phase of this card will allow holders to use it for their national health insurance and to pay for subsidized goods and services, with more government services to be available to it in the future.

The owner of the card would have to create an account with social services that is linked to their phone line, and will then be provided with a fingerprint ID that will give the cardholder immediate access to all the services.

The new card will be trialed in Luxor and Port Said, and then spread across the rest of Egypt.
