Historic Jeddah Program Unveils Culture Square as Landmark for Arts

The Ministry of Culture’s Historic Jeddah Program has launched Culture Square, a 26,000-square-metre site along Lake Al-Arbaeen. Culture Square serves as headquarters for a landmark initiative that looks to transform Jeddah into a global arts and heritage hub, entwining cultural history with modern innovation.

Culture Square features two flagship facilities: the Center for Performing Arts and the Digital Arts Museum ‘TeamLab Without Borders’.

The Center for Performing Arts will host theatrical performances, film screenings, and international festivals. It will also serve as the headquarters for the Red Sea International Film Festival, featuring a state-of-the-art theater with 868 seats, five cinema halls and spaces for cultural exchange.

Adjacent to it, the 10,000-square-metre TeamLab Museum will showcase 80 interactive exhibits blending art, technology and nature, providing a cutting-edge cultural experience.

At the heart of the development lies the Prince of the Sea House, a restored historic lighthouse that almost literally spotlights Jeddah’s architectural heritage. Its preservation is part of a broader effort to maintain the district’s character while integrating modern amenities such as air purification systems, touchless elevators and sustainable irrigation technologies.
