Ministry of Manpower Issue Irregular Workers with Free ATM cards To Cash In Their COVID-19 Allowance

Egypt’s Ministry of Manpower and Immigration has decided to issue 1.5 million irregular and seasonal workers with free ATM cards. The cards are to be used to collect the second and third instalments of the workers’ allowances, which have been implemented due to the financial difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The overall total of each worker’s allowance equals EGP 1,500 to be paid over three EP 500 monthly instalments. The first instalment is available for pickup from today, April 12th, through Thursday, April 16th, at post offices around the nation. The decision to switch the payment method to ATM cards for the second and third instalments was put into effect as a response to the risk that crowds and mass gatherings bring in regards to the spread of the Coronavirus.

The workers were requested to register for the allowance via the ministry’s official page at manpower.gov.eg.
