A nationwide mosque cleaning and maintenance campaign has been launched ahead of Ramadan under the supervision of Minister of Awqaf Usama Al-Sayyid Al-Azhari. The initiative includes extensive cleaning, maintenance, and development work across various provinces to prepare mosques for the holy month.
Provincial Awqaf departments are overseeing efforts to clean, carpet and decorate mosques, with help from volunteers and mosque caretakers.
The campaign is set to continue beyond Ramadan, with ongoing maintenance efforts designed to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for worshippers year-round. Worshippers are encouraged to help maintain cleanliness and participate in Ramadan programs.
According to astronomical calculations by the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, Ramadan is expected to begin on March 1st, 2025, with final confirmation to be announced by Dar El-Iftaa.
