Orange Egypt is Revamping Schools and Houses in Upper Egypt's Most Neglected Villages

With their Ramadan 2019 campaign, 'Small Things Make a Big Difference', telecommunication giant Orange Egypt is collaborating with NGOs Misr El Kheir and Ommar El Ard to launch two massive charity campaigns that are sure to make a big difference in the lives of many underprivileged Egyptians residing in often-neglected rural areas across six governorates in Upper Egypt.

Staying true to their slogan, Orange Egypt is making a big difference in the lives of impoverished students by revamping schools scattered across Aswan, Luxor, Sohag, Asyut, Beni Suef, and Minya. In addition to financing renovation work on the schools' internal and external facades, Orange Egypt and Misr El Kheir  are also providing the schools with technologically-advanced equipment, modern and durable furniture, as well as financing purchase of school uniforms for the students to lift the burden off of their families.Families residing in four Upper Egypt villages will also see the quality of their lives significantly improve with Orange Egypt and Ommar El Ard tackling persistent issues they face head-on. The project will see the installment of ceilings, flooring, water and sanitation facilities, as well as electricity to the houses of those who need it most. The roofs are designed to shield families from extreme weather conditions and keeping rainwater at bay.

“We continue to forge our privileged partnership with institutions that have exceptional experience in community work like Ommar El Ard and Misr El Kheir Foundation to upgrade the standard of Egyptian lives and change it to the better," said Orange Egypt's Head of PR & CSR, Hala Abdel-Wadood, extending her gratitude to Tamer Hosny and Nancy Ajram, who participated in the 'Small Things Make a Big Difference' campaign this Ramadan out of their personal belief in the cases supported by the campaign.

“The two campaigns are just the beginning of many campaigns to be sponsored by Orange Egypt in support to the government patriotic initiative 'Dignified Life' that was launched and represented by the Ministry of Social Solidarity," Abdel-Wadood added.
