Sheikh Hamdan Orders Donation of Dubai Games Prize Money to Charity
Dubai’s Ministry of Defence teams triumphed at Dubai Games 2025, but Sheikh Hamdan’s bold decision means no prize money.

The Ministry of Defence’s men’s and women’s teams claimed top spots at the Dubai Games 2025—but their winnings won’t be lining their pockets. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, has directed that all prize money be donated to charity.
The men’s team emerged victorious in the Battle of the Government for Men competition, while the women’s team secured second place in their category. The games were held at Dubai Festival City from February 20th to 23rd.
Known for his initiatives in sports, philanthropy, and youth empowerment—and with millions of followers on Instagram—Sheikh Hamdan has long championed projects that promote social responsibility and national pride.
