Star-Studded Cast of ‘Death on the Nile’ Revealed Ahead of Filming in Egypt

20th Century Fox has revealed the full cast of their upcoming adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Egypt-set classic, Death on the Nile, with director and star, Kenneth Brannagh, set to be joined by the likes of Armie Hammer, Gal Gadot and Annette Bening, as well as Russell Brand, Brit comedy duo, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, India’s Ali Fazal and Letitia Wright of Black Panther fame.

Set for release in October 2020, the film comes as a sequel to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, which starred Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench and Johnny Depp, leaving Branagh as the only returning actor.

It’s believed that filming will begin at Longcross Studios in England any day now, though it’s also expected that filming will take place in various places around Egypt in the first few months of 2020.

“On a luxurious cruise on the Nile River, a wealthy heiress, Linnet Ridgeway, is murdered,” the official synopsis of the film reads. “Fortunately, among the passengers are famed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and his trusted companion, Colonel Race, who immediately begin their investigation. But just as Poirot identifies a motley collection of would-be murderers, several of the suspects also meet their demise, which only deepens the mystery of the killer’s identity.”
