Turkish Bride and Groom Feed Syrian Refugees Instead of Wedding

Weddings cost an arm and a leg, and if you ask us, it is no value for money. You spend thousands of dollars on what amounts to be a one-day stressful, noisy, event. People nowadays are opting for alternatives, from redirecting the wedding money to traveling around the world, to simply saving it up.

In Turkey however, a couple have come up with a very simple way to spend the money. Instead of inviting guests to a huge party, they went out and fed 4000 Syrian refugees.

Many would argue that this is just a one shot act of kindness, and they could have spent the money on something more sustainable than a single meal. But hey, how many people do you know give up their wedding money to do something for someone else? And how can we judge from our comfortable seats, and well fed bellies, what this single meal means to the hungry and rejected? It’s an initiative, and hopefully many will follow to somehow do something, anything, for the less fortunate.
