Upper Egypt Opens First Medical Unit for Female Victims of Violence

Assiut University has just inaugurated the Women’s Health Centre, the first response unit in Upper Egypt specialised in treating women who have been subjected to violence.

The unit will provide Upper Egyptian women with educational, psychological and moral support with the participation of distinguished specialists in the field.

The unit's construction was a collaboration between the university, the National Women's Council, and the United Nations Population Fund.
