Upper Egypt to Receive EGP 92.4 Billion in Development

The move comes after Egypt uncovered its fiscal year 2021/2022 budget of EGP 2.6 trillion, making it the biggest budget in Egyptian history.

Upper Egypt to Receive EGP 92.4 Billion in Development

Egypt has allocated a total of EGP 92.4 billion, or USD 5.9 billion, in public investments for the development of Upper Egypt.


The total sum will go to finance a number of projects in the area including sanitation, transport, stockpiling, health, petroleum, services, and power sectors.


The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development will allocate EGP 51 billion of the budget to redevelop the southern part of Upper Egypt, while EGP 22.1 billion will be allocated for the central part, and the remaining EGP 19.3 billion will be set aside for the northern part.
