Vodafone's Ramadan Ad Ranks 4th Among the Most Shared Ads of 2016

Unruly has released their annual most shared ads of 2016, and Egypt's Vodafone Ramadan ad impressively came fourth, beating out ads from all over the world.

Vodafone Egypt has a reason to celebrate as their unforgettable heartwarming 2016 Ramadan advert, The Big Family (El 3eila El Kibeera) has just been named one of the Top 20 Global Video Ads on Unruly's annual chart.

Egyptian superstars Menna Shalaby, Sherine Abdel Wahab, Ahmed El-Sakka, Laila Eloui, Sherif Mounir, Isaad Younes, and Samir Ghanem, among others, helped Vodafone's annual Ramadan advert reach a million views in only five hours, and surpassing 16 million views to date.

Collecting data from January 1 to November 29th, 2016, Unruly discovered that the Vodafone ad ranked fourth as one of the most shared ad of 2016, amassing a whopping 1,435,350 shares. Instead of basing virality on views, Unruly believes a true test of a content's virality should be based on the number of shares, which is an active pass-on rather than a passive one. Making it on this list are a variety of commercials from the U.K, U.S, Denmark, Thailand, Bangladesh, and India, among others.

Needless to say, Vodafone should be crowned as this year’s Ramadan champions as they not only impacted Egypt but garnered the attention of marketers and viewers across the planet.
