Zamalek's First Cinema to Open Its Doors this Eid
The island's only movie theatre opens on the first day of Eid Al Adha!

Zamalek is our longest relationship. Literally. We have shown the district more commitment and devotion than we ever thought we were capable of, but when it comes to visual entertainment, the island always fell short and we had no choice but to look elsewhere.
Not anymore. Zamalek’s Shagaret El Dor Street just went and got itself a cinema! The cleverly named Zamalek Cinema, which brands itself as a 'boutique movie theatre' according to its Facebook page, is part of the Osman Group Cinemas. "Anyone living or going out in Zamalek knows that a cinema was very much needed in the area. So we've always had this idea of opening a movie theatre there in the back of our minds. Fortunately it's finally coming true," owner Hussein Osman tells us.
According to Osman, the island’s first and only movie theatre opens on the first day of Eid Al Adha with the 2016 Egyptian comedy Hamlit Freezer. "As for the first foreign film after Eid, we will be showing The Magnificent Seven."
