No More Free-Entry Visas for Egyptians Vacationing in South Korea
Visiting South Korea never crossed our minds until this policy came out.

Possibly starting from October, Egyptians will have to get a pre-entry visa to enter South Korea. The Ministry of Justice in South Korea decided to create this prerequisite due to the vast surge of Egyptians seeking asylum or residing illegally within South Korean borders.
“This year, around half the refugee applicants were Egyptians. If this trend continues, things will get out of control,” a South Korean government official stated.
According to Donga, more than 3,000 Egyptians have filed for refugee status in South Korea between the eyears 1994 and 2017. A lot of the applicants were men in their 20s or 30s who had little to no overseas experience prior to the asylum.
Egypt currently has access to only 49 visa-free countries, including Malaysia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines in the Caribbean. Better try to go for a vacation before we’re off those lists too.
