Who said you can't look fashionable and be comfortable at the same time?
Cairo is fast becoming a melting pot of refined culture, style, and beauty; we’ve learned to accept new ideas and designs, something we’re witnessing in full force through new and upcoming young designers that keep popping up every day. We've recently stumbled upon one of this town’s most stylish locals: 19-year-old designer Reem Nabil, who's quickly gained a following through not only her salient designs but also the illuminating videos she directs and the models she styles. Nabil relishes the bohemian look through the various patterns and materials she uses to create summery crop tops and skirts.
Creating a powerful collision of traditional and contemporary ideas, Nabil regularly documents how young Egyptian women in Cairo perceive style and beauty, then adapts those conceptions through her designs. “I get inspired by the hipster look, and that’s why I tend to use comfortable swift materials that naturally suit the surrounding atmosphere," Nabil tells us. "Plus, everyone knows that accessories complete the outfit, so I add a few things here and there.” It's shaping up to be a hot summer in Egypt this year, and we prefer Nabil's type of dresses and tops – lightweight, summery, and we can roam the streets of Cairo with them without feeling like our body temperature is shooting from 37 to boiling point. Nabil has a new collection coming soon, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
