Renowned Designer Farida Temraz Publishes Fashion Branding Book

Appointed as the official fashion ambassador of Egypt by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Temraz took the responsibility of growing the local fashion industry to heart by releasing her own guide.

As if it wasn’t enough that Farida Temraz founded internationally-successful fashion brand Temraza and has positioned herself as an empowering example for women in Egypt’s fashion scene, she also manages to find the time to become a published author. The couture aficionado’s first book, ‘Fashion Branding and Social Media: A Practical Guide’, made its debut at one of Cairo’s biggest literary events, the Cairo International Book Fair.


Appointed as the official fashion ambassador of Egypt by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Temraz took the responsibility of growing the local fashion industry to heart. “I took a decision at the beginning of my career to bring Egypt back to the global fashion map,” Temraz tells #CairoScene. “Egypt has a lot of creative designers that are still missing the know-how of how to create a brand, of how to make sure the brand equity is growing stronger. Social media is the cheapest media tool. I decided I want to create a book to support designers in Egypt and in the Arab World.”


The book is a step-by-step instructional guide for young designers and fashion professionals, where Temraz shares her knowledge to energise Egypt’s relatively young fashion industry. Temraz delves into the effects of social media on brand equity, how to market for your brand, and the right way to navigate business as an up-and-coming label. ‘Fashion Branding and Social Media: A Practical Guide’ is due for a nationwide release soon.
