Meteor Shower Set to Dazzle Planet Earth This Weekend
Step aside minuscule shooting star, the world is about to see a meteor shower this weekend!

It’s not as scary as it sounds; meteor showers happen pretty much everyday. You know that shooting star you see? That’s actually a meteor. But what we’re going to see this weekend is a meteor SHOWER called the Lyrids. About 20 shooting stars per hour are going to hit the earth's atmosphere, which should create a spectacular light show, according to Astronomy Magazine.
In case you’re curious as to why exactly this happens, and without this becoming overly complicated; basically when the earth passes through the dusty leftovers of comets that tried to form maybe hundreds of years ago, you get a shower of meteors.
To catch the show, make sure you stay up late in a place void of air pollution (as much as possible), and don’t take your eyes off the sky.
