Help This Egyptian Girl Skate to Success

Now, Egypt is hardly known for its Winter Olympic talents but one 14-year old ice skater is looking for funding to help her make it the 2018 games in Korea. Find out how you can contribute...

As far as Olympics go, we Egyptian have fared decently in the past few rounds of this international-sporty-people-get -together. We think it's a miracle we made it to the Olympics at all so our mere presence at them makes us giddy and incites a swelling of national pride in our smoke-ruined chests. But when it comes to the Winter Olympics, our nation's been virtually nonexistent at these things. We did compete once, way back in 1984. Naturally, we came dead last but quite frankly, it's a win that we were there at all.

Now, however, we have another shot at dominating at the upcoming Winter Olympics in the form of a 14-year-old child, with the help of a little fundraising project. A new Indiegogo campaign has just been launched to raise money to send Amira Abdul Moati, a junior ice skater, to the 2018 snowy sports event. Considering that this girl has more talent in her left pinkie toe than most of us do in our entire bodies, and Egypt could really use a win worldwide, we think it's definitely worth throwing some funds her way!

The prodigal ice skater has dedicated most of her life to the sport, has competed internationally, and might have a shot at competing in Korea if the goal of $50,000 is reached. This is definitely a more worthwhile crowdfunding cause than the guy who raised over $50,000 on Kickstarter for potato salad…

You can head over to Indiegogo here if you want to contribute!
