Kayanee Health Experience Inspires Saudi Women to Move & Be Moved
This comprehensive fitness initiative is guiding Saudi women on their journey to total health.
There’s no doubt that we all want to look, feel, and be our best – the real question is, how do we get there? Meet Kayanee, the women’s health initiative that aims to redefine fitness through collective experience. With the recent opening of their flagship location in Riyadh’s diplomatic corner, this boutique and studio takes a significant step in promoting holistic health throughout the Kingdom.
“The very essence of Kayanee has been built with the Saudi woman in mind so she can look, feel, and perform her best—with a community that is cultivated by mutual interests and needs,” Kayanee’s Chairwoman, Her Royal Highness Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al-Saud, says. “We are committed to connecting our story with hers and our goal is to offer all the tools needed for women to find their inner beat and discover the true joy of movement.”
The health collective’s name, ‘Kayanee’, means ‘my being’ in Arabic, and is a nod towards the true goal of this program, which is to balance the desires of the mind with the needs of the body. This initiative approaches well-being in a communal manner, and supports women as they pursue physical, mental, social, financial, and environmental health.
Although the pursuit of mind-body health is a universal endeavour, this initiative is grounded in Saudi heritage. “This is a Saudi brand that embraces the cultural content of the Kingdom but at the same time, leverages international best-in-class resources in the form of partnerships and product development,” Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al-Saud explains.
A Commercial Initiative with a Social Calling
Kayanee is a project of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The PIF is the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia and one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world. This fund chooses to invest in long-term projects that benefit Saudi Arabia as a nation. Kayanee’s mission to provide Saudi women with tools to live in complete wellness aligns the collective’s goals with that of the PIF, and with Saudi Vision 2030.
“As a PIF portfolio company, we are very much a commercial business but steeped in a strong social initiative – to get women moving,” Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al-Saud shares.
The Six Sides of Kayanee
Kayanee features six comprehensive experiences in their holistic wellness framework, each of which is featured in the brand-new state-of-the-art Kayanee store and studio. These components – MOVE, WEAR, NOURISH, RESTORE, THRIVE, and LEARN – are instrumental to Kayanee’s mission to help Saudi women “Move and Be Moved.”
The six components of the Kayanee wellness experience work together to create a comprehensive framework for total wellness, one that you can choose to engage with at your own pace. “Our aspiration is for clients to seamlessly engage with any of Kayanee’s business offerings, recognising that each level of participation yields significant health benefits and leaves you better off than before,” Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al-Saud says.
Within this new centre’s studios, women have the chance to connect with their bodies through the Kayanee Dance Fitness class (KDF). These classes were developed for Kayanee’s Move program in collaboration with Zumba, one of the biggest names in dance fitness. Drawing inspiration from the Arabian peninsula’s rich traditions of music and dance, these high-energy workouts are infused with the culture of the Kingdom. Every class incorporates three distinct rhythms: Khaleeji, which features graceful shapes and expressive hand movements, Darbuka, which is named after the drums used in belly dancing rhythm and lends itself to sensual self-expression, and Dabke, which brings joy to high-cardio work.
If you’re having trouble picking out what to wear to your dance fitness class, Kayanee has you covered. In the boutique portion of the studio and store, you will find a specially designed clothing line. This line is part of Keyanee’s Wear mission, which helps women feel great by adorning their bodies with things they love. The clothes made for Kayanee’s community feature graceful silhouettes, luxe craftsmanship, and ethically-sourced materials. This activewear is made with Saudi women in mind, and is part of Kayanee’s “Buy Better, Buy Less” philosophy.
In its journey to help women feel their best, Kayanee promotes full-body nourishment by offering healthy ready-to-eat meals as well as offerings in the Kayanee Cafe. This falls under the Nourish portion of the Kayanee’s whole-health experience, an initiative that is dedicated to feeding women’s entire beings, not just their bodies. With power bars, smoothies, wholesome meals, and more, Kayanee makes eating well a true treat.
Kayanee not only gives women healthy options for what they put in their bodies – this whole-health initiative takes a mindful approach to what women put on their bodies, too. The Kayanee Restore program features a special range of hair and skin products that heal and protect as they cleanse. These plant-based formulas have sustainability in mind, with 100% traceable, all-natural ingredients.
In addition to providing the products that can help Saudi women look and feel their best, Kayanee also offers professional guidance through their Thrive initiative. This portion of the Kayanee experience allows women to book personalised consultations to create their very own health plans, complete with specific regimens and supplements to keep both brain and body happy. Once a Kayanee client has received their science-backed skin, body composition, scalp, and hair analysis in their initial consultation, they have options to pursue support, aftercare, and follow-up consultations from Kayanee’s professionals.
Kayanee gives women the chance to learn from other types of professionals, too, with masterclasses and lectures taking the concept of health far beyond the physical. In their specially curated Speaker Series, Kayanee gives its clients access to world-class wellness experts, allowing them to glean unique perspectives that they can apply to their own lives. Covering topics such as fitness, mental health, nutrition, and more, these talks and classes give a window into the latest research on healthy practices.
