School for Children With Special Needs to Open Late 2022

The 30th June Group, an association of schools under the Ministry of Education, is preparing to open the first school of its kind that specialises in working with students with special needs, in order to integrate them into the general school system.

Starting at the beginning of the 2022/2023 academic year, the new school will facilitate psychological, health and educational programmes for its students, especially during their early childhood years.

The educational strategy aims to provide the highest means of care for students with special needs, in order to equip them with their full educational rights in a healthy environment. The school will administer its programmes through a trained team of select teachers and psychologists, as well as social workers who have been trained according to international standards.

The school’s grounds will include a research centre to keep the school aligned on its mission, and a kitchen dedicated to preparing specific meals that suit the students’ health requirements.

Finally, the school will launch a side programme to educate students’ parents on how to deal with their children in the correct manner, how to train them at home with speech sessions and behaviour modification, and how to assign them household chores.

While the exact location of the school hasn’t been disclosed yet,  preliminary construction plans are currently in the works.
