Big Hass Hosts Wegz On Episode 108 of ‘Buckle Up With Big Hass’

Two of the biggest figures in Middle Eastern rap discuss everything from Wegz’s origins to his dreams for the future.

UAE-based Saudi hip hop guru Big Hass invites one of the region’s leading figures in hip hop, Wegz, for a special cruise session on episode 108 of ‘Buckle Up With Big Hass. Widely known in the region for his magnificent personality, pivotal role within music media, and wide knowledge of everything hip hop, Big Hass has truly established himself as an influential figure within the MENA rap scene.

‘Buckle Up With Big Hass’ features Hass interviewing various subjects as they cruise through the streets of Dubai. The show is just one example of a number of Big Hass’ ventures in pushing hip hop in the region.This is aside from his Dubai radio show Pulse 95 FM, his music releases as executive producer, and being the founder of Re-Volt Magazine.

After the first release of ‘Buckle Up’ with Moroccan singer/songwriter, Manal, Big Hass has come a long way. With 108 episodes thus far, he has interviewed a wide range of musicians, rappers, and singers, including the likes of Sudanese rapper AKA Keyz, American freestyler Harry Mack, Dutch-Moroccan producer and rapper Cilvaringz of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, and more.

For this special episode, Big Hass hosts Egyptian superstar Wegz. During the ride, they discuss multiple pop-culture topics, such as the boom of Egyptian hip hop back in 2018 and the current Egyptian music scene. They discuss Wegz’ home city, Alexandria, and various other topics.

One special take-away listeners may learn from the conversation is some of Wegz’ influences being Mobb Deep and Ice Cube. The Egyptian artist also expressed admiration and respect for pop icons such as Ushe, and mentioned that he would love to collaborate with Algerian singer Cheb Mami.
