Lebanese DJ Raphael Merheb on Ibiza Sonica Radio with Cottonmouth Blogcast
Raphael is making his way to the opening of Hoppetosse in Berlin this month, playing with Sonja Moonear, Barac, Ion Ludwig, and many more. Here's a one hour set to warm you up.
The Merheb family of Lebanon, it seems, have an overpowering musical gene running through their bloodline. Earlier this month, we were flabbergasted by a contribution to our serial podcast, Select, courtesy of Elias Merheb, better known as 3LIAS or Stamina. This week, news emerged of his brother Raphael playing the season opener for Berlin minimal house abode Hoppetosse, alongside Sonja Moonear, Barac, Ion Ludwig and several others.
It is always great to know that our regional artists are getting gigs abroad, Berlin no less, at an institution like Hoppetosse, with such a stellar line-up. Now many of you living outside of Lebanon might not know of Raphael Merheb. Main resident DJ of techno imprint Vellocet and co-founder of artistic collective and imprint A Tribe Called TRIBE, and in abiding by their ethos where music is king and the DJ playing is but a vessel from which it manifests, you won't hear any over-hyped statements regarding any of their superlative underground talents - they let their music do the talking instead, have a listen below.Follow Raphael Merheb on Soundcloud for more tunes.
