Get Your Sahel Swag On: Epic New Egyptian Brand DonnyBrook Has Just Launched

Pineapples, popsicles, and puppy pugs. Along with flamingos, fries, and flip flops. Add some drinks, some games, maybe some unicorn floaties, a beach, and we’ll happily call it a summer well spent. Some might say this is too much to ask, but DonnyBrook say heck yeah! The brand-spanking new Egyptian brand just released its first of many clothing lines featuring male swimming trunks coloured with pineapples, flamingos, unicorn floaties and everything that reminds us of a how a good summer should be spent.  

Founders of DonnyBrook friends Omar Salem, Hania Kauzman, Ali El Shenawy, and Mostafa Sedky came up with the idea of launching a clothing brand over a year ago and their many months of brainstorming and executing brought us to the launch of the Egyptian brand just last week. “After the prices of everything went up and everything became more expensive, we decided it was the best time to do this,” the team tell us. Since the launch last week, the quirky brand have already almost sold out of all their designs. Who wouldn’t want to be smothered with pugs around their shorts?

The designs of the trunks were also created by the team themselves with Sedky taking care of turning them into a reality. Essentially, the idea is for DonnyBrook to resemble the quality of international high-end brands while bypassing the ridiculous costs. “Egyptians are more inclined to purchase something if they know it is made internationally. So we wanted our brand to rival international brands that people love, with the same quality, while keeping everything Egyptian made,” they say proudly, “Everything we get, everything we use, and everything we produce is 100% Egyptian made.”

The name of the brand embodies a muscular fictional character - Donny - representative of the clothing they create for males. They hope for Brook to become the female version of that as they introduce a women’s range. Donny and Brook are like the perfect, smoochy beach couple that we all envy, obviously!

In the future, they will be expanding their male swimwear range as well as creating new clothing lines as early as September this year. “We also want to start exporting internationally. We’ve already got a high volume of orders coming from all around the Middle East!” they add.
