Superstar Hend Sabry Launches Modest Wear Brand ‘Second Chance’
Second Chance shares its name with a brand that Sabry’s character founded in her popular Netflix series, ‘Finding Ola’.
A true labour of love, superstar Hend Sabry responds to the influx of social media messages regarding her TV ensembles with Second Chance; a clothing brand that is modest in demeanour and offers patterned renditions of kimonos and cardigans. A collaboration between Sabry and her lifelong friend and fashion designer Reem El Torky, Second Chance shares its name with a skincare brand that Sabry’s character founded in her popular Netflix series, ‘Finding Ola’. As the name suggests, Second Chance lends itself favourable to those looking for refuge from the saturated seams of highstreet brands.
“The idea of Second Chance is related to outfits I wore in one of my dramas,” Hend Sabry tells SceneStyled. “Many women were asking me on social media about where I bought these outfits from. At the time, I felt as though we didn’t have a brand specialised in women's fashion that offers practical, loose and comfortable clothing that is suitable for the culture, customs and traditions of the Arab region and the Middle East, which is when the idea for Second Chance came about.”
The first collection boats flowy kimonos reminiscent of summer solstice afternoons. With eclectic colourways and Egyptian-inspired prints, the collection serves as an experimental exploration of closet staples. Employing an array of negative colours, the designs - albeit superfluous in essence - work towards upgrading monochromatic outfits and work outfits (turned uniforms) consisting of mum jeans and tank tops.
