Dubai International Airport Prepares for 3.7 Million Summer Passengers
The airport will focus on expediting passenger formalities, allowing more time to enjoy facilities like restaurants, shops, spas, and lounges.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is bracing for a busy summer, expecting over 3.7 million passengers between June 12th and 25th, as schools close for the holidays. Daily traffic is anticipated to average 264,000 passengers, with June 22nd potentially peaking at 287,000 travellers.
Aiming to ensure a seamless and enjoyable travel experience, especially for families embarking on their summer adventures, DXB will focus on expediting passenger formalities, allowing more time to enjoy facilities like restaurants, shops, spas, and lounges.
Sharing a few tips with those planning on passing through the airport over the summer, DXB encouraged passengers to check baggage allowances and packing rules in advance, pack essentials separately, weigh luggage ahead of time, ensure all travel documents are in order, prepare metal items and liquids in hand luggage to speed up screening, use Smart Gates to expedite passport control for children over 12, arrive no earlier than three hours before departure and use online check-in where available.
Additionally, for those flying on Dubai-based carrier Emirates, the airport recommends you take advantage of home, early and self-check-in facilities, while those travelling on flydubai should arrive four hours before their flight.
