Marsa Alam to Implement Plastic Ban Starting August
After the plastic ban's implementation in 90% of Hurghada's areas, Marsa Alam is set to follow its neighboring town's footsteps.

Red Sea governor, Ahmad Abdallah, has announced that a ban on single-use plastic in Marsa Alam is set to be implemented, following a similar ban being announced in Hurghada in June.
Speaking to Al Masry El Youm Abdallah revealed that, as of August, fines will be enforced and that the ban will initially target food and grocery vendors and supermarkets, adding that the ban also extends to disposable plastic tableware.
Protecting the red sea and its endangered species, which accidentally digest plastic, in turn, suffocating and dying, the ban also intends to protect humans from the plastic residues which end up everywhere, negatively impacting human health.
